Gracie
Meet Gracie..... isn't she scrumptious? She was quite easily one of the most natural little posers I have come across which I love of course, because it makes my job all the more easier. A couple of years ago I photographed Gracie's big sister Bella around the time of her first birthday, so it was lovely to be back and to be able to capture the two of them together. I always feel so privileged to be trusted with the securing of these memories. I love that the images I creat

Get Your Glamp On
As I have previously mentioned, I have a great love of the outdoors and going on adventures. In complete contrast to this though I REALLY don't like camping.... never have..... pretty sure I never will. So when the opportunity came up for me to spend two nights GLAMPING on the edge of the Peak Distict I was beyond excited and raring to go. Was I about to let the fact that the two days I was staying there had the worst weather for the month of June forecasted? Absolutely no

Eloise
I do get so excited as Summer approaches. Not just because I am THE most miserable cold person that ever lived, but because it allows me to add outdoor elements to a lot of my shoots. Whilst I've never really been in to the typical "outdoorsy" stereotypes - camping, festivals etc; I do get all prancey and giddy over the idea of the gorgeous natural light opportunities that the warmer months provide. Take last month's shoot with little Eloise. We had the perfect balance of

Pillow Talk
It's no secret that Boudoir Shoots are one of the absolute favourite elements of my business. A month or so ago I was contacted by a lady who wished to present her husband with a book of images for their first wedding anniversary - I know, such a cute idea! The shoot was done, as most are, at my home and in my bedroom (it's purposely decked out for boudoir). We spent a lovely 90 minutes or so just simply getting acquainted, talking about ideas and then shooting in a really r

All the pretty things....
I've fallen in love. The kind of exciting love that gives you butterflies in your stomach. Today I received my second order from my new album suppliers and I'm totally and utterly smitten. It's never easy switching from something you feel safe and secure with to something new but this year is all about change and I feel this particular company embodies my style perfectly. I've never really been that big on albums if I'm honest. I've always felt that if a couple want one th

Welcome to the World - Obie Smedley
"A new baby is like the beginning of all things - wonder, hope, a dream of possibilities." - Eda J Le Shan It's no secret that I love a newborn shoot. In all honesty, I go a bit mushy. I always hope that I will get a chance to have cuddles amidst the making of those sweet memories. And it's always extra special to me when I get to photograph one of my oldest friends' newest little bundle of love, like Obie. Vlora and I have been friends for sixteen years. I've been fortuna

Still can't find what keeps me here......
Since I've been taking photographs I have always wanted to do a shoot in an abandoned or derelict building. Yesterday I got to tick that right off my "Photography Bucket List" so to speak and it was every bit as incredible as I had always expected it to be. The setting was an old house amidst an existing industrial estate. It is probably no more than ten minutes from where I live and yet I had no idea it was there. It was perfect - both rooms bathed in a gorgeous abundance

Why have an engagement portrait shoot?
I often get asked by couples whether they need to have an Engagement Portrait shoot? The answer of course is "No....." You don't need to do anything but here is a brief outline of why doing so is a good idea..... 1. It allows us to spend some time together one on one...... On your Wedding Day the only actual "alone time" you get is when you're having your couple portraits done. Obviously you aren't completely alone seeing as I would be there too but it's the only time you ar

Kula Tsurdiu - An Affair of the Heart
Towards the back end of last year, I happened (purely by chance in the first instance) to pretty much land my dream job - photographing beautiful couture bridal gowns!! I was tagged on Facebook in a post advertising for a local photographer. Thankfully I had seen it right away and having taken one look at the designer on google I knew I just had to get the job. I was asked to submit a few examples of my work and then I kinda just sat around waiting for the phone to ring (pl

Dudeoir.......
It was at round about this time last year that I first came across the word "Dudeoir" and I quite literally fell in love with the concept. I have always enjoyed photographing Boudoir shoots so the idea of mixing it up and using men in feminine poses, really got my creative juices flowing. Initially it was just an idea that was casually thrown out there, a "Dudeoir" calendar to raise money for charity? I'm not sure whether I ever expected it to come to fruition, but it turned
