Get Your Glamp On

As I have previously mentioned, I have a great love of the outdoors and going on adventures. In complete contrast to this though I REALLY don't like camping.... never have..... pretty sure I never will. So when the opportunity came up for me to spend two nights GLAMPING on the edge of the Peak Distict I was beyond excited and raring to go. Was I about to let the fact that the two days I was staying there had the worst weather for the month of June forecasted? Absolutely not.........

On arriving I was welcomed and shown around the site by Helen, who is one of the owners. I was initially quite surprised by how separated the three pods are - Yes, there are three custom designed glamping pods at Mulino, two of which are pet friendly. It was also incredibly quiet and tranquil with stunning views over the Carsington Valley.

The pods really do include everything you need for a cosy and comfortable stay. All three contain a double bed, with Lavender pod also having bunk beds allowing for additional guests. There is a fridge, toaster, kettle, wifi and an outside decking area with BBQ and fire pit.

The two very clean and spacious bathrooms are separate to the pods but are easily accessible and in the whole time I was there I didn't run in to anyone else let alone have to queue. There is also an additional cooking/kitchen area with an outdoor gas hob and washing up facilities if you don't fancy venturing out in to nearby Ashbourne or Matlock Bath for dinner.

Also on site is a "welcome room" containing lots of information about the local area, games, books, heaters or fans (I went for the heat) a honesty shop where you can purchase food and essentials. You can even sample some of the local ice cream here should you so wish.

Being a busy working mum it can be so hard to find any real time to relax. Mulino Pods were absolutely perfect for recharging my batteries. I felt like I had stepped away from civilisation and all I really did for two days (aside from take photographs of course) was eat, sleep, read, watch Netflix and chase sheep (lovingly) around the field. It was perfect. I would potentially love to return on a sunnier date to see just how the landscape changes but for now I am more than happy with my first ever glamping experience.

You can check out the Mulino Pod website for more information and also for availability and booking - http://www.mulinopods.co.uk
